Dr. Aristotelis E. Charalampakis graduated from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) - School of Civil Engineering with a major in Structural Engineering. He holds a PhD (NTUA) and a MSc/DIC with distinction (top of his class) from Imperial College. He was honored by Imperial College with the J.R. Jenkins prize "for excellence in structural mechanics".

His academic interests include inelastic dynamic analysis of structures; plasticity; optimization; metaheuristics (genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization, differential evolution, simulated annealing, etc). He is the author of several books and papers published in international scientific journals, as well as papers presented in international scientific conferences and symposia. He is an adjunct professor at TEI Peiraeus, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is also an active programmer with TechnoLogismiki, a software house he co-founded in 2002, developing and maintaining more than 25 programs for engineers.
